Beauty Blogger Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Taylor from Tailored Beginnings to do this tag, I haven't really seen this one before and I am excited to do it, I am going to to tag anyone and everyone who reads this and leave me a comment so I can check yours out...

Here are the rules...

State that the tag was created by The Beau Bow!

Tag more beauty bloggers!

Title this as I've shown to show what tag this is!

Always state rules in your post!!

1. Name a beauty routine you rarely do
I never ever ever curl my eyelashes, I own eyelash curlers but I just don't use them.

2. Is washing your makeup brushes you do regularly?
Err no. I have a stupid amount of make up brushes and I usually wait until they are all dirty before I realise there are no clean ones left and I have no choice but to wash them.

3. How long will you last with a chipped nail varnish?
Not long at all its one of the most annoying things ever if I get one chipped nail they all have to be redone.

4. How long do you put off replacing/buying a beauty or nail polish product if you need it?
I love to shop so If i need to replace a product Its usually an excuse for a big spend up, so I like to get them straight away.

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Not wearing sun cream, I hate to think what my skin will look like in 40 years.

6. Name something none-beauty related that you put off all the time
Cleaning, Im a generally messy person and clutter doesn't bother me so things have to get pretty bad for me to finally give in a tidy my room.

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?
I enjoy the getting ready process so I try and give myself enough time to get ready so Im not rushed.

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
No, I don't think I have ever even attempted a spending ban.

9. How organised is your makeup and nail polish collection?
Not organised at all, I find beauty products all over the house, the car, my boyfriends house, I just can't seem to keep it all in one place.

10. What is the longest time you've gone without writing a blog post?
This is my first post back after a 2 month gap, so I guess 2 months.

Lovley Lush Goodies Easter Edition 2

Now for the second Lush Easter product and this one is a lot more exciting I almost wish this was a permanent product.

This is a 'Fluffy Egg' and is priced at £2.95, this is an egg shaped bath bomb and it is on the larger side you could easily get two baths out of this if you cut it in half.

If like me you loooveeee Snow Fairy and Christmas you will be obsessed with this sweet, candy floss, girly smell. It turns the water a beautiful pink, the next morning I could still slightly smell it.

I will be stocking up on this bath bomb It could possibly be my new favorite.

Lovely Lush Goddies Easter Edition

As its Easter I thought id try and make this wees post a bit more themed to I went into lush and picked up a few bits from their Easter collection.

The first thing I tried was 'Hoppity Poppity', It is a cute little rabbit and will cost you £2.50.

The scent is very mild so If you don't like some of the stronger smells lush are known for this is for you. It is full of Lime Oils, Lavender and Violet so it is soothing and a great one to relax with.

It is a very fast fizzer it had almost vanished within 20 seconds of being put into the bath, it claims to have popping candy hidden inside but I cant say I noticed that.

It left a very very very subtle tint of pink to the water but nothing to exciting the bath bomb was nice but not something I would rush out to try again.

Thanks for reading, and look out for more Easter bath products this week

What Do We Think Of Hats?

Every time I see someone in a nice hat I always wish I could pull one off, Im fine with a beanie and I can even somehow manage to think I look ok in a straw hat in the summer but when it comes to big, floppy statement hats I think that as soon as I put it on everyone will laugh.

When I see them in the shops I try it on, look in the mirror and take it off as quickly as I can, hoping that know one saw me.

But I was in Primark picking up my usual basics and I saw one of the hats I'd been wanting to pull off so I grabbed it and put it in my already very full basket.

I had every intention of playing around with it at home, trying to make it work with a few different outfits and hairstyles realising that I would look silly and take it back.

When I got home from shopping and was showing my boyfriend the things Id brought I tried on the hat and to my surprise he didn't burst out laughing (and he would, we are very honest with each other, if one of us doesn't like something we say it) He thought it looked ok and so did my mum so the next day we went out to a pub and I wore the hat!!!

Now when we were buying drinks I was sure the lady behind the bar was looking at me in a strange way but I think that I was paranoid about trying something new, kind of like when you wear a bright lipstick for the first time you make yourself believe everyone else you see thinks you look like a drag queen.

I put a photo from the day on Instagram and was surprised at how many people complimented me on the hat.

So now I feel like me and that hat are starting to get along. What do you think?

Lovey Lush Goodies

Karma Bubble Bar was a new product for me, I don't usually get drawn to fruity smells but I thought i'd try something different. It has the scent of Orange and Patchouli it is also full of sweet orange oil, lemon grass oil, pine oil and elemi oil. You feel the oils on your skin after the bath so there is no need for a moisturizer.

I only used half the bar at a time so the water didn't turn that orange but I imagine if you use the entire thing it would be a really vibrant colour. Using half did produce a lot of bubbles and they lasted the entire bath unlike a few products that seem to vanish as your relaxing.

The product itself was lovely I just cant seem to make my self enjoy the fruity scent, it reminds me of a bathroom cleaning product.

Have you tried Karma Bubble Bar?

HD Brows

I have been getting my brows done with the HD method for well over a year now.

I think of it as more of a treatment then just getting my eyebrows groomed as it takes between 45 minutes to an hour.  It involves a few different hair removal techniques, including tinting, waxing, threading, trimming and tweezing.

I have never had my brows look as good as they do now.

Here are before and after pictures from the last time they were done the first picture is after 6 weeks re-growth (Ignore the eyelash glue..It was still drying) I do have product on them but you can still see the untidy shape.

Here is an after picture, as you can see they are very red this is because of my very sensitive skin and anything I do hair removal wise causes a bit of soreness and a rash but after a few hours it disappears. When they are first done I get about 2 weeks without needing to use any product, so that's a great time saver.

How do you maintain your brows?

Lovely Lush Goodies

I am a bath person I have at least one a day and if your a bath person your normally a Lush person.

I buy so many lush things I thought I would start writing about them.

Today I used one of the bath bombs that I buy regularly its called Ikle Baby Bot and its one of Lush's cheapest products at £1.95. Who can resist the cute robot design?

Lush have designed this for the most sensitive skins, it can even be used on babies over six months to help them sleep as it contains Lavender Oil it is also full of Sandalwood Oil and Chamomile Blue Oil.

Once dropped in the bath it is a very fast fizzer and the scent fills the bathroom immediately, the lavender is pretty strong but not overpowering and is a brilliant way to relax before bed.

This is a very basic bath bomb, if you are a lush fan then you will know a lot of their products have glitter, sequins, petals and all kind of surprises although this is lovely it is nice to be able to have a bath bomb that doesn't cause a lot of mess.

It turns the water a gorgeous pale blue, its almost as if your in the ocean. I always make sure I have a Ikle Baby Bot in my Lush stash, and whenever i'm feeling stressed and tired I pop him into the bath and relax.

Whats your must have Lush product?

Bad Habits

As much I love all things beauty related I still have some terrible habits I cant seem to break, I thought I see if anyone else does these naughty things, hopefully i'm not the only one.

  • Spending to much time in the sun, and not using a high enough factor sun cream. I love a tan like most people. But we all know how bad it is for your skin and the risks but I find it hard to resist a good sunbathing session.

  • Picking off my mascara, I have endless amounts of eye make up remover but I still find my self picking off my mascara in the evenings, I don't even know i'm doing it until I realize I've lost a few lashes!

  • Not throwing away make-up as often as I should, I cant be the only one who can't throw away products that have cost a small fortune.

  • Using to much heat on my hair and not protecting it. I know its bad but I love styling my hair differently everyday and that involves using a lot of heat, I need to get in the habit of using a heat protector and hopefully that will save my fried split ends.

  • Cleaning my make up brushes, or should I say not cleaning them. Its just boring and time consuming, who wants to spend hours washing brushes?

These are just a few of my bad habits can you relate to any of them?

Lets talk about reds

I never used to wear red lipsticks, I always thought they made me look pale and washed out but as I started trying different tones and finishes I found a few reds that I enjoy using and seem to get compliments on when I wear them.

The first is from Rimmel By Kate Matte Lipstick in the Shade 107. Its completely matte and isn't that drying compared to some of the others I have tried. Not a shade id typically chose but with such a big hype in the blogging world I had to give it a go. Its a dark, vampy, berry colour. It lasts for ages on the lips even without a lip liner. Plus its only £5.50 so its a real bargain.

Another one of my loves is from NYX it's one of their Soft Matte Lip Creams. The shade is Monte Carlo and its more of a true red and has a blue tone to it, great for making teeth look white in photos. The Lip Creams are £6.50 but you can pick them up cheaper online. I wouldn't say its 100% matte as its got a slight sheen when it dries. It also wears brilliantly it stains the lips so even after eating or drinking you still have a bit of colour on them.

The last of my go to reds is one I never thought i'd actually own, I was browsing the local MUA stand in Sperdrug and I came across the one direction collection (who would have thought such a thing existed). Surprisingly I fell in love with a lipstick its in the shade 'Harry' and its a glossy red, slightly on the dark side but still a true red. Yes the packaging is tacky and so is the name but its only £3.00 so you can't be to fussy, the product its self if gorgeous.

Whats your go to red lipstick?

My love for Netflix

I never really used to watch much TV that was until I discovered the world of netfilx now I can spend an entire day in front of it. I think I like being able to watch things instantly and not having to wait a week for the next episode. Here are a few things I think are worth watching on netflix!

1. Breaking Bad
I didn't think I would enjoy this but after hearing everyone talking about it I just gave in and watched an episode and I became hooked. Its funny, dramatic, dark and slightly strange but its worth a watch.

2. The Inbetweeners
Im sure if your from the UK you have seen all the episodes but I can watch them over and over again and still laugh if you want a bit of cheering up this will always help.

3. Pretty Little Liars
A girl is murdered and they never solved the case and people are still receiving messages for her. Some of the episodes are on the freaky side but I cant stop watching it, nexflix are adding new episodes at the moment.

4. 90210
An easy to watch series it was shown on E4 back in the day but I never finished it. It's a series based around a school and the students and their lives, watching this makes me wish I lived near a warm sandy beach.

Have you got any Netflix recommendations?

Fifty Shades Of Grey

This isn't my usual post type but I couldn't resist sharing my thoughts on this with you..

If you read the books then i'm sure you will be seeing the film, thats exactly what I did today. I dragged my boyfriend along to the cinema with me (just how he wanted to spend valentines day).

Now I'm not sure what I was expecting but I came away feeling a bit disappointed, it wasn't terrible but it wasn't amazing. The cast is great Jamie Dornan is a very attractive man and his acting skills are pretty amazing, after the first five minutes I 100% believed he was Mr.Grey. It wasn't as raunchy as the books but that being said I still wouldn't want to watch it with my mum or dad :)

I do think that the first film was more of a teaser for the next film if you have read the books you'll know what I mean, it has been left on a cliff hanger...

I wont say to much because I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

Have you seen the film? How did it compare to the books for you?

Naked Basics 2

As some of you may have seen in my February wish list I felt I needed more eyeshadow in my life.

I was convinced I wanted the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette but when I got to the counter and looked at it and did a few swatches I decided that the Basics 2 was a lot more up my street.

Like the original Basics it contains 6 shades 5 matte and 1 highlight colour.

As you can see the shades are very cool in tone and are all extremely neutral.

The price of this little gem was £23.00 and I got mine from Debenhams.

I love the size of this as it can fit in any make up bag and the packaging is so easy to wipe clean.

I can't wait to use experiment with this, I will be doing a review post with swatches in a few weeks.

The Wanderlust Tag

I love reading tags, you get to learn so much more about the blogger you feel like your getting know them on a more personal level rather than just reading about their likes and dislikes. So here is my Wanderlust Tag.

1. What’s your most treasured passport stamp?
I love the stamp I got when I went to Finland, I went to LapLand and they gave me a santa stamp along with the usual boring passport stamp, being a lot younger i found this so excited and loved showing everyone the stamp.

2. Can you recite your passport # from memory if asked?

Nope. Ive never met anyone that can either.

3. Preferred method of travel; planes, trains or automobiles?
I hate flying, I find it so stressful. Every sound the plane makes I imagine that its the wings about to fall off. Although its the most practical way to travel so I do try to just get on with it. But I would feel a lot safer in a train or car.

4. Top 3 travel items?
Camera, Neck Pillow, Plug Adaptor

5. Hostel or hotel?
I have been in a Hostel once when I went to Belgium on a school trip so we had the entire thing to ourselves and it wasn't that bad. Although I would much rather stay in a hotel.

6. Are you a repeat visitor or do you explore new places?
I have never been to the same place twice when it comes to holidays, if I go to the same country I go to the other side of it just so I can see new things.

7. Do you read up on your destination (culture, history, safety) or do you wing it?
I am a worrier so I spend a lot of time looking at safety tips and crime rates when I go to a new destination, I do like to see what I can do whilst I visit so I normally plan a few things before I go.

8. Favorite travel website?
TripAdvisor. You can use it for everything hotel reviews, restaurant reviews and views on attractions. I don't go anywhere without checking TripAdvisor first.

9. Where would you recommend a friend to visit? Name city & why.
Cape Town,South Africa. Its an amazing city with a busy centre full of shops, modern buildings and attractions and then just outside of that there are beautiful views and beaches, plus its full of history and amazing culture.

10. You’re leaving tomorrow, money is no option, where are you going?
I would go to New Zealand,it looks beautiful full of amazing things to do and little bays with caves and mountains.

Here are some photos from my trip to Africa

Would love to read your tags if you do/have done this one link it in the comments!
