A Tint Of Pink

I have always enjoyed changing my hair colour and style but when it comes to changing the colour I stick to the very natural shades so deciding to add a slight pink tint to my hair was a bit scary for me.

I was looking around my local hair and beauty supply store when I came across the temporary hair colours. I spent a long time looking at the different brands but I ended up choosing two shades from the brand Crazy Colour.

The shades are from the Candy Shop Collection. The first was Candy Floss and the second was Marshmallow, I chose to mix the colours together as the Candy Floss shade is a barbie pink but slightly brighter then what I wanted and the Marshmallow was more lilac toned. When mixed together they created the perfect pastel shade.

The bottles of colour are £4.00 each and last a few washes depending on the shampoo you use and the colour of your hair before you dye it.

I left the dye on for about an hour but kept checking the colour every 10 minutes.

Here are the results, I love it.

I don't know how many washes the colour will last for as it is such a pastel shade, my hair doesn't feel damaged or dry since dying it, if you are looking at adding a bit of colour to your hair I highly recommend crazy colour.

Have you tried any Crazy Colour dye?

Bio Sculpture Nails

I have always loved having long, colourful, pretty nails and for a couple of years I constantly wore acrylic nails. About a year ago I started getting HD Brows done and the lovely lady who makes my eyebrows amazing also started to make my nails look amazing without the damaging acrylics.

Anyone who has had any type of nail enhancements will know that when they are removed the nails look a little worse for wear. They peel, flake and break all the time.

I now have Bio Sculpture Nails, If you have never heard of this brand this is what they are all about...

Bio Sculpture Gel is applied as an overlay onto natural nails by a qualified nail technician. The permanent colour gel is strong and flexible, with a glossy finish, lasting for up to three weeks. Bio Sculpture Gel is an advanced nail treatment that strengthens and conditions nails. The flexible coating moves with the nails, protecting them, whilst allowing them to grow without breaking.

I get my nails done every 3 weeks and they still look perfect when I get them removed they are far better then any of the other Gel polishes I have tried and I can honestly say that my nails are amazing now, you wouldn't even know that I had acrylic previously the damage has been reversed.

There are over 150 colours to chose from and they constantly bring out new collections so you never have to have the same colour twice.

Nail art can be added and glitters can be applied with the gel.

Here are a few photos of some of the Bio Sculpture Nails I have had recently with the colour names as best as I can remember them.

172 Favela Sunrise - Carnival Collection

112 On The Dark Side with a glitter added - Dark Secrets Collection

My Experience With Hair Extensions

I have never been one of those girls with hair down to their waists. I would always try to  grow my hair and it would get to just below my shoulders and then just stop, I've dyed my hair for as long as I can remember and the bleaching and chemicals haven't helped.

So last Christmas I decided to get myself the hair I'd always wanted, I invested in 'Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions' These are strands of hair that are bonded together with and adhesive such as glue or keratin. They bonds are melted to your own hair and can last for up to 6 months with the proper care and maintenance. I had 3 different sheds of blonde added to match my hair colour and they were 16 inches in length.

I know lots of people are very anti-extension due to hearing horror stories but I can honestly say my hair was in the same condition after having them then it was before. If you find a well trained technician who applies them and removes them in the correct way and you look after them with the proper after care you shouldn't have any problems.

I have had 3 sets of these extensions over a year and a half and loved them they are almost invisible and can be styled just like your normal hair.

The only differences I found were that you cant let them air dry or apply conditioner to the bonds as it will destroy them and the hair will start to fall out, you also have to make sure the bonds are separated every few days to prevent matting.

Here are a few photos of when I had the extensions fitted.

Have you tried any types of semi permanent extensions?

If you have any questions or want to know anything about the extensions please ask!!

Revlon Lip Butters

The Revlon Lip Butters aren't anything new in fact I think they were launched in the UK in 2011 or 2012. I own two of them and I wasn't that impressed although both the shades I own are pink and I believe that the formulas are very hit and miss depending on the colour so maybe that's were I've gone wrong. They cost around £8.00 each but Revlon often has offers so you can usually pick them up on a 2 for £10 or something similar.

Lollipop 075

Lollipop is the brightest most pigmented shade I own, it is a deep purpleish blue toned pink and I don't find myself using it that often at all, I find that unless I have perfectly conditioned and exfoliated lips that the colour applies patchy and uneven, clinging very very obviously to any dead skin or dry patches.

The left swatch is just one swipe of the lipstick and the second swatch is a opaque as i could get the colour. As the lipstick is so cool toned is makes teeth look very white.

Strawberry Shortcake - 080

This has to be my most used Lip Butter out of the two, it is the most wearable, moisturizing and flattering for my skin tone. I love that its a pink but not so bright on the lips that its not wearable, its a colour you can put on without a mirror and not worry that you have got lipstick everywhere like you have to with a brighter shade. The swatches are the same as above the thinner swatch is a single swipe and the thicker watch is the  colour after a few swipes.

I really want to try some of the nude shades they do, can anyone recommend a good one?

Sunday Shopping Trip

Not knowing what to do on a Sunday afternoon I thought i'd go into my local high street and have a look around the shops, something I shouldn't do as It always results in me spending to much money. I only brought a few little bits but I thought I'd share them with you.

MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter - £3.00

I wanted to try and find some quality budget make up, I've never really used anything from MUA as I do think you pay for quality.

But whilst i was looking I did see 2 interesting looking products the first being this highlighter there were 2 choices this pink toned one and a more yellow/gold toned shade (I couldn't see any shade names, if anyone is aware of them please let me know).

I chose the pink as i thought it could possibly be a dupe for MAC Soft and Gentle.

The packaging is horrible and very plastic looking but it keeps the product safe and its compact, for £3.00 its exactly what you would expect.

It looks lovely most cheaper highlighters seem to have big chunks of glitter but this is more of a subtle shimmer as you can see in the swatch below, I can't wait to start trying this out and will be posting my thoughts in a few weeks.

MUA Undress Your Skin Under Eye Concealer - £3.00

This is a concealer specifically for under eyes, it is available in 3 shades Brilliance, Luminous and Radiance. I picked up Radiance as it looked like the lightest shade as I love a brightening concealer.

The packaging is typical for under eye concealers a thin tube with brush applicator that has to be twisted to allow the product to flow into the brush. The only problem with this style of applicator is that you can't see how much product you have left. The brush isn't as soft as some others I have tried but I usually blend it out with a brush or my finger so it isn't to much of a problem.

The colour of the product is very very yellow toned, I like yellow tones as i find they really  brighten up my skin. It seems to have a small amount of glitter added to it although this is a nice idea to add to the brightening effect i'm not sure how this will look on the skin.

As you can see it is pretty full coverage for an under eye concealer so it will be interesting to see how well it wears and if it creases.

Superdrug Curl Clips - £1.59 for 10

I hope i'm not the only one that loves these clips whenever I do any sort of curling to my hair I always roll the curl and set it using a clip, in my house clips seem to disappear all the time so i took advantage of the buy one get one half price offer and picked up a few packs of these to keep me going.

Dove Nourishing Oil Care Repair Mask - £1.99

I love dove hair care so when i saw this mask in savers for only £1.99 i couldn't resist i have used the moisturizing dove hair mask and loved it, so i have high hopes for this one too. It usually costs £4.59 in boots and I would pay full price for this but I was so pleased to see it for half the price, who doesn't love a bargain?

It smells lovely and fresh its such a thick mask that i cant imagine needing to use more then an egg sized amount to cover my hair so it should last a while. It contains Argon Oil and Vitamins E and F, brilliant for people like myself who colour their hair and constantly use heat on it.

Girls With Attitude Carnaby Lashes - £1.99

These were another Savers bargain as on the Girls With Attitude Website their lashes are around £5.00+. I have had the Carnaby lashes before and love them they aren't to big and they feel light on the eyes. I wouldn't be able to get more the 2 uses out of these lashes as the quality isn't amazing but for £1.99 i don't mind that. When i wear this lashes i will add some photos so you can see how they look.

I wouldn't use the glue that comes with these lashes as it isn't very sticky and doesn't dry 100% clear, I use they Eylure or Duo glue and they both work brilliantly with these lashes. They also look lovely as corner lashes because of they way they fan out, if a full lash is to much for you then just snip them in half and it gives a more subtle look. I don't know about you but I don't like to spend a lot of money on lashes as I don't wear them enough.

What are you favorite Lash brands?

Chocolate Orange Warming Masque

I brought this Chocolate Orange Warming Masque by Montagne Jeunesse from Primark whilst doing my Christmas shopping and I have only just got round to using it.

I am a religious user of the Sanctuary 5 minute Thermal Detox Mask so I rarely try other masks but when i saw this was also a self heating style mask and the scent was chocolate orange i couldn't resist giving it a go. I believe this sachet was 90p and you can get two uses out of it so its brilliant value for money. I have also seen Montagne Jeunesse products available in places other than Primark such as Boots,Superdrug,Savers and even Argos.

This mask is defiantly on the thicker side but not so that thick that its hard to spread over the face, when I first applied it the smell was the first thing I noticed. It smells amazing almost good enough to eat. Although it claims to be a self heating mask I couldn't really feel the effects of that.

I left it on my face for about 10 minutes the recommended time was 10-15 minutes but by the time i was ready to take it off it had already started sliding off my face and turned into a more watery consistency I don't know if this was because i used it in the bath and the steam effected it or if that was something to do with its 'self heating properties.
I didn't notice any amazing results after using this, my skin was softer but that's about all it seemed to do, I will be trying more of the products as they are so cheap and are nice to use if you just want to feel pampered and i'm a sucker for an amazing smelling bath product even if that's all its good for.

Another thing that's worth knowing is that they are an animal friendly brand so that's always a good thing.

Have you tried any Montagne Jeunesse?

My Everyday Face

I have a lot of make-up anyone who knows me will tell you that. Its become an obsession i can't go into a Debenhams or House of Fraser without taking a sneaky look at the counters.

Boots and Superdrug are even more dangerous places for me as everything is so reasonably priced I usually don't leave empty handed.

Because of this I have a lot of products just sitting on my dressing table that never get used (who needs 12 foundations? I only have one face). So recently I've tried to get my everyday base down to a few things that actually work for me, i'm hoping that in the long run this will stop me spending money or trying every new foundation/concealer/powder that comes out as I will have a routine that i'm happy with instead of just changing it around everyday and never falling in love with a product.

So these are the products that are working for me at the moment and if right now I lost any of these or they ran out I would need to repurchases them.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation-£5.99

I am extremely pleased that i fell in love with this foundation, I am happy to splurge on base products so i would have happily spent £30+ on something that works so the fact this is so cheap is brilliant. It is a very natural foundation that claims to  'reawaken skin and give it a radiant, healthy glow' and lives up to that.

It lasts all day with a powder applied on top without a setting powder it isn't so great. The only thing i would say is I can only seem to see 6 shades available in the UK stores so might not be great for all of you.

Mac Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer-£15.50

The best only concealer i think i will ever use, I know that is a big claim but its amazing. This will cover anything and everything not to mention the longevity of the product it applies as a cream but dries to more of a powder finish that will stay put all day.

I have had this tiny pot for a long time as you can see the MAC label has pretty much diapered, but its still just as creamy as when I first got it and i have loads left as you only need the smallest amount. I also used this product to cover tattoos whilst i was at college so its pretty heavy duty stuff.

With 15 shades to chose from I cant imagine anyone not loving this.

BareMinerals Original SPF 15 Foundation-£15.00

Yes this is foundation, but for me it works best as a setting powder. Using this as a foundation just doesn't work for me its patchy, clings to everything and doesn't give me enough coverage but as a powder its my holy grail setting product.

I apply a light dusting of this all over my face and it gives me just enough coverage and  keeps my make up in place not to mention stopping my oily skin making an appearance during the day.

Now I will be honest if you are heavy handed with this it can go horribly wrong and be cakey.

Have you used BareMinerals? How did you get on with their products?

Here is  a photo of these products on the skin. Hopfully you can see how natural they are and that the colour matches my neck pretty well.

Tiny MAC Haul

Hello Sweeties, Hope you are all having a lovely day even though the weather is horrible and cold and damp. The January blues have hit me and to cheer myself up I took a trip to Bluewater and dragged my boyfriend to the MAC counter.

I had a list of things to buy but unfortunately one of those items was out of stock and it was of course Soar Lip Liner thanks to Kylie Jenner but i managed to pick up the following things...

MAC Cream Colour Base - Hush - £15.50

MAC describe this product as a 'versatile and multi-purpose product' and that is exactly what it is it can be used as a blusher, highlighter, lip colour and even on the eyelids. I have wanted to get my hands on this ever since it was used on me whilst I was taking part in a MAC workshop whilst studying make-up. When it was applied on me i didn't think much of it I just assumed it was a pretty cream blush/highlighter. It wasn't until I got home and looked in the mirror that i realized just how special it was, it gave the skin an amazing glow but with no glitter. I am a hardcore fan of Soft and Gentle MSF but this blew that out of the water it was more natural, longer lasting and more flattering for my skin tone.

Unfortunately natural daylight wasn't helping me out today so I've had to use the flash to get the amazing reflective sheen to show up in the photos. It slightly washes out the colour in the pan but it gives you an idea of how the product shows up on your face in photos! If you haven't had a swatch of this I recommend taking a look at it next time your near a MAC.

MAC Strobe Cream - £24.50

Strobe cream is marketed as a moisturizer on the MAC website, although I don't plan to use it on an everyday basis and more of an illuminating base on days where my skin needs a bit of a boost. I haven't tried any 'skincare' products from MAC so I am excited to see how i get on with this. It is a very very very light pearl toned cream so i'm not sure how well this would work on much darker skin tones, I am going to get some of my friends to try this out so I will update you on how versatile it is and how it works on not so pale people like myself. It smells AMAZING very clean and almost like a spa product. The packaging for the strobe cream is disappointing the box it comes in is lovely it has embossing on the outside and the inside, then when you take it out the box it looks cheap and boring although MAC packaging is known for being simple I think they could have created something that looks a little more high end, what do you think?

Obviously these are just first impressions as I have only just got them, I will do a proper review with pictures of them on the face once I have had a chance to road test them!
